Exodus Chapter 26

God gave Moses instructions for building the future tabernacle including the interior Holiest Place of Holy.  You could say that God gave him the blueprints and the design details.  As you read this chapter you will find that God gave the exact measurement for every section to the finest detail that would include overlapping coverings for the ends of the tabernacle.  All of these details are so intricate that they are difficult to understand.  Perhaps an architect could comprehend all that God laid out for construction.  What I think we need to appreciate is how detailed our God was in those blueprints.  He gave details that would help them construct this tabernacle with precise sizes and intricacy of design.  He also designed it to be portable and temporary to be assembled and disassembled when they moved.

Let's Reflect

1. How many curtains were to be made for wrapping the sides of the entire tabernacle?

2. How were these curtains hooked together?

3. The five curtains that were hooked together to create one side, were long enough on each end to overlap and wrap around a pole to complete the end.  According to verse 13 how much overlap was there once all five curtains were hooked together?

4. What type of material was to be used for the “roof” of the tabernacle?

5. What type of wood was used for the framework of the tabernacle?

6. The wood was covered in silver in some instances when referring to the base.  In the other framework the wood was covered with what?

7. What was the veil made of that separated the main area of the tabernacle and the Most Holy area?

8. Inside the Most Holy area they would place the Ark of the Testimony (the Ark of the Covenant) what was placed outside the Most Holy area?

9. What was the entrance to the tabernacle made of?
